Get with the Green

GLASS RECYCLED is building a green network by enhancing it's presence on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube and Pinterest by making many connections professionally to spread the newest trend- upcycling. By now GLASS RECYCLED has educated the public on upcycling and now is focusing on delivering the best upcycled work possible.

Recently we have hired a consultant, Kate Jung, in the Midwest along with myself, Marie Bodnar as a marketing representative, but now we can introduce a few more additions! We have successfully brought on two more consultants for the State of Nebraska and California.

In Nebraska, Angela Larsen, will be acting as a liaison and design expert in the green industry. She comes from a strong background in design and is ready to push forth upcycled products by GLASS RECYCLED.

California's consultant, Teri Koss also comes from a background of design expertise and will serve the northern part of the State of California.

With a total of 4 recent hires GLASS RECYCLED will be even easier to stay in contact with! Follow us on our social media outlets to keep in the loop of what projects are taking place and where you might be able to find products near you!

Next Step

GlassPLANK flooring in the Michigan State Stadium!
Its May already meaning I will be graduating on the 4th... It is crazy how fast these past four years have gone by. I am so excited to more forward though and make an impact on this Earth. I plan on starting my professional career with GLASS RECYCLED.

Yup, that's right I was offered a full time job with the company I have been interning for over a year with! I couldn't be happier! My position will be known as the Marketing Communications Representative. This transition from a student to a professional is huge along with the fact I will be moving from northern Michigan to Texas.

I will plan on updating my blog with plenty of pictures and challenges of entering the real world. Wish me luck!

05/15/2012

Now that I walked across the stage at the Breslin at Michigan State University and accepted my full time job offer with GLASS RECYCLED I decided to take a trip to Dallas. I met some locals and looked at several apartment complexes and found myself falling in love with north Dallas. Finalizing the last few things it looks as though I will be in Texas by the end of August starting my first real job in September. This all seems like a dream still...

Help Your Mother!

Growing up I was always told to do the right thing even when others were not looking... now did I actually do that? Lets just say I tried, but now that I am older and I am growing parallel with Mother Earth and I know more now than ever on how important it is to do the right thing; when it comes to not only the human race, but preserving it for our future. I am talking beyond the world peace statement here...

Preserving the Earth seems to hit home to the "hippies" or the "tree huggers", but they are the ones that have taken responsibility of their waste. Society is slowly developing and learning from one and other about the cause and effects we are bound to face. Whether we believe in global warming or not is a one thing, but believing in recycling is a promise. I think of recycling as a promise to myself and my future generations to come that "I care about your future health so I recycle everyday so that _______ resources could be preserved and you wouldn't have to experience_______!".

I recycle because there is no need to shove our trash down Mother Earth's throat. We can reuse and recreate (upcycle). Maybe my personal passion for recycling has increased due to the fact that I am currently working for a green company that prides itself on upcycling, but if I could make everyone embrace the color green and what it means to contribute to green- I believe we would have a healthier way of life.

My hope for the future is that everyone is held responsible for their waste.

I dare you to ask the next store, restaurant, or headquarters you walk into "How do you handle your waste and do you have recycling program implemented?" Let me warn you... you will be shocked to find most don't. In fact I always embarrass my friends when I ask to speak to the manager about their waste and handling because it often results in a 2 minute spiel on how important it is and how its irresponsible not too!

If you have found your inner passion to preserve our Earth you might look at GLASS RECYCLED as one of the best companies out there since they upcycle and save Mother Earth from glass, mirror, and porcelain. The beauty of recycling is the products they create everyday... glass landscaping, glass counter tops, glass flooring, and glass decorations.

Do your part and go green!

Everyone is excited to get out of the winter rut by bringing the bright color and warmth back into their daily life. Kicking off summer often starts with some spring cleaning and some remodeling or updating. While spring may seem to linger some years it is a valued time for home owners and businesses to catch up on the “dirty work”.

With much planting needed for street presence many will go to their local plant nursery and find the bright colors they have been missing for months. The remodeling and organizing that takes place every so often has many complaining, but it is also the perfect time to create a master plan for the new and upgraded remodeling ideas you have longing for. Reading through magazines and browsing the internet all winter- you may have read a few articles about the numerous ways Glass Recycled is able to brighten your environment. Our rather new décor line allows customization beyond your imagination. We have focused on the customers by valuing your ideas and imaginations. The endless possibilities can add the perfect touch to your current environment.

In order to execute a perfect summer, every functioning unit knows how important it is be ready for summer and the festivities that are about to be put in high gear. Spring cleaning involves help from everyone- which is not exactly easy to complete in a timely matter. Making cleaning activities fun and exciting is the best way to keep the youngest of cleaners involved. Plotting plants in the front of the house can be rewarding by enjoying the flowers blooming and can turn into a competition so see who can make the prettiest arrangements. The part that the men don’t appreciate is when the rakes are handed to them to spread the filler whether it’s dirty mulch, rocks, or other landscaping aesthetics. I bet many haven’t thought about putting recycled glass or porcelain in your garden!

Our GlassSCAPE is the answer to your plants thirst and the sun’s rays- our glass holds in moisture and Glass mulch does not absorb water like wood mulch, so the water goes where it is intended – into the plants – and even less water is used than traditional gardening. Glass mulch and porcelain mulch also reduce weeds, moderate soil temperatures, and prevent soil from becoming compacted. Are you convinced yet? We dare you to be twice as green and have the prettiest garden!

Once the plants have been planted all of the outdoor seating is pulled out from sheds and basements to provide space to enjoy lemonade and a few laughs. The best part of enjoying the outdoors is just breathing in and taking a look around the beauty the world has to offer. The green communities not only find vegetation beautiful, but upcycling even more beautiful. We can create the perfect weather proof tables to reside next to a favorite lawn chair. Don’t be shy and take a look at both our GlassSCAPE and our GlassDECOR.

Once summer arrives you will be ready to host cook outs and accepting compliments from all your neighbors and friends on your customized decor. The summer is almost here so make sure you are ready!

Is Papaya or Orange the Color for 2012?

Color trends fade in and fade out throughout the years and2012 has a promising bright color, orange. Orange makes quite the statement in any room. The feelings associated with orange form along the fine line of bold and at times tacky. Pending on the use of the color each room can be identified with radiance and warmth in both homes and offices.

The color Papaya offers shades of yellows, tans, oranges, and peaches.

The color orange is bright and vibrant like the fruit-orange.

Most think of leaves changing in the fall or the festivitiesthat occur in the fall months such as Oktoberfest or Halloween. The transition fromwarm summers to cool winters can be less dramatic when there is bright colorsand positive and comforting settings to carry out daily activities. This year the color orange may provide the inspiring kick we need as this delayed winter drags on.

The warmth of orange is often paired with various shades of brown creating a warming environment. Warming colors may start with shades oftan to browns and then at times orange and yellows. These colors are often found in smaller settings where some sort of inspiration may be needed. Accent walls can feature a pop of color or furniture can offer a hint of fun to anyspace.
